The samples were collected following allegations that raw meat was served at the outlet on Saturday night.
The case has been transferred to Ernakulam food safety department.
“The samples are being kept in a sealed cover and will be handed over to food safety officials,” said Kalamassery S I Shibu E V .
“The incident has been brought to our notice and we are investigating the matter. Our chicken is cooked at a minimum temperature of 170 degrees Celsius making it perfectly safe to consume,”said KFC spokesperson “Customers can walk-in to our restaurants and see for themselves the stringent quality and hygiene standards that we follow,” added the spokesperson.
